Today, I have the pleasure to write about an organic beauty brand I really like: Kahina Giving beauty. Inspired by the Moroccan beauty traditions and using Argan oil as its signature ingredient, the Ecocert-certified brand offers a lovely collection of products. I have been testing the facial lotion and the moisture mask thanks to the generosity of Anouk, founder of the green boutique Corpo Natura. Read below what I think.
Facial lotion (€54.00 for 50ml)
With its very smooth and lightweight texture, the Kahina lotion feels like a softening caress on the skin. Designed to be used as a morning moisturizer, I also like to use it as a regenerative night cream. The weather is ok at the moment so I tend to stay clear from wearing oils during the day: it gives a too dewy finish and I am not too keen on it.
When I reach the Facial lotion in the morning, I usually massage 1 or 2 drops into cleansed skin: this is enough to provide my skin all the nutrients and softness it needs. The light emulsion contains healing Argan oil, moisturizing hyaluronate sodium, and anti-inflammatory Raspberry seed oil. Sometimes, I may layer a pea size amount of the Kimberly Sayer ultra-light moisturizer SPF30 to provide some sun protection but it would depend if I am outside or not during the day.
As an overall, the Kahina Facial lotion does an excellent job at moisturizing the skin without being heavy. It delivers all the promises written! I would definitely recommend it if you have a dry, normal, combination and/or sensitive skin.
Moisture mask (€92.00 for 50ml)
I have often said it in this blog: having a good moisturizing mask is essential in keeping the skin healthy and in good balance.
The mask from Kahina is a rich and unctuous Aloe vera-based concoction, made with some very potent botanical extracts such as Red wine grape extract, prickly Pear seed oil, or Barley extract. Its concentration in natural actives makes it the ultimate SOS mask for tired, aging and dehydrated skins. It is perfect to calm skin after a day spent outdoors or after sun overexposure. But it is also excellent at cocooning, quenching and plumping thirsty skins.
The texture is really creamy and gently melts on the skin when you apply it. I usually leave it for 30 min despite the 15 min recommendation- I guess too much goodness can’t be bad for the skin.
My skin is left calmed, really smooth, and so comfortable. All dry patches are gone.
Pricewise, the mask is not cheap, however, my experience has been really positive and my skin just loves this mask so much.
