As you know, we love dishing on skin health. But today we’re taking the conversation farther than health into the realm of pure radiance. Want to know our secret weapon to the ultimate in fresh, dewy skin? Look no further than the OLO nightly double cleanse.
That’s right, we said back-to-back face washes. If it sounds crazy to you, ponder this: your face is the most exposed part of your body and absorbs everything from makeup and sunscreen to dirt, dust, sweat, and – so sorry – but even the oil released from your own pores. That’s alot of daily buildup to remove, but don’t worry, we’ve perfected the process!
Why the Double Cleanse Works:
Washing first with an oil-based cleanser, followed by a second wash with a mild foaming cleanser, is the key to healthy, balanced, properly moisturized skin.
We recommend everyone wash with an oil-based cleanser first (even if you have acne). Basic chemistry tells us that “like dissolves like” and washing with an oil-based cleanser like Skin Savior Balm or Vitamin B Cleansing Oil dissolves oil-based dirt like natural oils, heavy makeup, and sunscreen.A second wash with a foaming cleanser like Easy Does It removes water-based dirt like dust and sweat to deeply purify the skin.
Despite the extra wash, the process is quick and easy. Just follow these steps:
Using clean, dry hands, apply a small amount of Skin Savior Balm or Vitamin B Cleansing Oil to your dry face and massage gently for 1-2 minutes. Remove the balm using a warm, damp washcloth. The Vitamin B Cleansing Oil is designed to simply rinse clean with water, no washcloth required.
Follow with Easy Does It and a Cleansing Sponge. The cleanser will remove any remaining residue left on the face after the oil wash. The Cleansing Sponge helps remove makeup and debris from those hard-to-reach places like around the eyes, nose, and jawline.
Lastly, while your skin is still damp, apply a soothing moisturizer.
Bonus tip: Wash your pillowcase! Your pillow collects dirt and oils left by your skin. Be sure to change your pillowcase every week as part of your clear-skin plan.
